HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF COGNITIVE THEORY AS THEORY OF REFLECTION (BY EXAMPLE OF ANCIENT GREEK PHILOSOPHY)

Abstract. The article shows that the development of cognitive theory as a reflection theory comes from ancient philosophy. It was the ancient Greek thinkers, who founded cognitive theory, which is based on dialectical methodological school. The basic principles of cognitive theory as a reflection theory (the unity of the world, universal phenomena connection) by example of Heraclitus, Epicurus, Aristotle’s studies, and their approach to the possibility of knowing the world are presented.
