Abstract.
The article considers the musical-poetic model of the Abkhazian heroic song and the reasons of its relationship with the folk music of the mountain peoples of the Caucasus. The role of the heroic Nart Epos in the formation of general principles and foundations in the song creation of various peoples of the Caucasus region is emphasized. Particular attention is paid to the reasons of heroic songs dominance in the Abkhazian song folklore and their relation to the historical past of the people. An interesting topic of similarities between heroic songs forming and the ancient traditions of oratory is touched upon. The features of the musical and speech intonations of heroic songs are considered in detail by some examples.
