Abstract.
The article is devoted to the main song genres of the Spanish Renaissance – villancico and canción – poorly covered in the national musicology. The data on genre notions appearance in authentic texts and the characteristics of types are presented. The main result is the formation of the author’s typology of genres compositional organization in accordance with the parameters of poetic-musical form. The author draws on the material of the representative collection – Cancionero Musical de Palacio .
