N. N. CHEREPNIN’S CHURCH CHANTS

Abstract.
The article considers N. N. Cherepnin’s choral compositions with church texts in their basis. While analyzing spiritual-musical creativity the author studies its stylistic features in the context, on the one hand, of the composer-miriskusnik’s (the member of the artistic movement ‘Mir Iskusstva’ – ‘World of Art’) original style, on the other hand, – the art of the New Movement, to which his music belongs to. For the first time the chosen aspect gives the full idea about Cherepnin’s church chants created during the first decades of the XX th century.
