Abstract.
The article pays attention to the choral miniature a cappella development features in Russia at the turn of the XIX
th-XX
th centuries. The object of the research is the genre of choral miniature without accompaniment considered from the point of view of the specificity of the musical embodiment of the main ideas of the Russian religious philosophy (the messianic role of Russia, the proclamation of the Orthodoxy as the spiritual basis of national revival, conciliarism) in it in the context of the general cultural-historical atmosphere in Russia of the end of the XIX
th – the beginning of the XX
th century.
