Abstract.
The article is devoted to madrigal comedy genre, little-studied in the Russian musical researches, but synthesizing the main tendencies of the Italian musical and drama theater of the late Renaissance. Madrigal comedies genre-theatrical genesis consideration allowed disclosing the typological features of the genres of the Italian comedy works and society literature, including farce, ascending to urban short story. The conclusions emphasize the importance of musical-theatrical genre as the summary of the considerable part of the Italian Renaissance dramaturgy traditions.
