Abstract.
In the article the Azerbaijani merchants’ participation in the trade relations of Dagestan with Russia is shown on the basis of archival documents analysis. The assortment of goods imported by the Azerbaijani merchants from the Russian towns in Dagestan trade centers and further in Azerbaijan is analyzed. Special attention is paid to the trade policy of the Russian government conducted in respect of the eastern merchants, the influence of the international situation in the region on trade relations development.
