Abstract.
The article considers the prerequisites of the Irish terror of 1920-1921. The connection between the situation in Britain and the Irish policy of the British cabinet is stated, which consequence was special police formation that turned into the main tool of terror implementation. The analysis of concrete cases allows concluding that terror had a narrow ideological orientation and was used against social groups connected with the Republican movement in any way. The British Unionist cabinet carried out bloody experiment in Ireland to please oligarchic circles.
