Abstract.
The article considers the role of trade as a form of communication and integration in the development of civilization. The mechanisms for the civilizational impact of the modern European trade, which replaced ancient oriental trade and preceded modern trade, generated by the globalization of social-economic life, are analyzed in detail. The modern European trade represented all social-economic changes that occurred in the early modern period. It contributed to the spread of new ideas, practices and forms of social life organization.
