Abstract. The article considers the features of the non-Western version of system crisis. The author pays attention to its cyclical nature related to the unexhausted character of feudalism potential. Russia of the last quarter of the XVII thcentury was a typical example, where Peter’s reorganizations, having become the reaction to system crisis, despite the steady image of modernization ones, primarily contributed to the strengthening of the traditional foundations of the Russian statehood: autocracy, orthodoxy and serfdom.
