ARMENIAN INFANTRY BATTALIONS DURING FIRST WORLD WAR

Abstract.
In the article the reorganization processes of the Armenian voluntary squads into the Russian Army regular infantry battalions during the First World War are studied. The research reveals this process features, shows the strength, national composition, methods of recruitment with lower ranks and officers of the Armenian infantry battalions, clergy staff providing for them. The article shows the participation of the Armenian battalions in fighting at the Caucasian front, points out positive sides as well as difficulties and disadvantages of full-fledged units organization.
