EXPERIMENT AND EXPERIMENTATION IN SPIRITUAL ASPIRATIONS OF RENAISSANCE AND EARLY MODERN PERIOD

Abstract.
The author considers changes in music in the context of the sociocultural processes that marked the Renaissance. It is proved that experiment and experimentation principle, the spirit of invention and search, which penetrated into all the spheres of human’s spiritual life, became the basis of early modern period spiritual culture and defined the special character of artistic creativity development. The methods of mental experimentation that turned out to be the leading ones in human’s spiritual life became widespread and conditioned numerous changes and innovations in musical art. In the article there is the thought about the primacy of the artistic method of world cognition in relation to the scientific one; it is emphasized that new understanding of human being and world was conditioned and prepared by the Renaissance artistic practice.
