Abstract.
The issue of linguistic identity formation among the young generation of Bashkortostan population is considered in the article. The analysis is conducted according to the results of the ethno-sociological research implemented in the Republic of Bashkortostan in 2005 and 2013. Linguistic identity is shown by the formation of ethnocultural identity and it is analyzed through the following criteria: “language as the basic means of communication”, “native language”, “language as the means of communication in foreign culture environment” and others. The author also highlights the factors influencing the formation of positive ethnocultural and linguistic identity.
