THE MARI MUSICAL ART AT THE END OF 1937 - THE 1940S: AFTERWORD TO TRAGEDY

Abstract. The article reveals the peculiarities of the development of the Mari musical art in the period after the ending of “Great Terror”. The author considers the results of the conducted repressions of Stalin’s regime concerning the clerisy of the Mari ASSR and analyzes the reasons for the stagnancy of creative teams’ and organizations’ activity as well as the problems of the revival and following development of art in this Republic up to the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
