Abstract.
The article justifies the necessity for implementing effective demographic state policy in the country on the basis of investigating the specifics of modern demographic situation, its tendencies and consequences, the formation of the system of scientifically grounded recommendations on the management of population development. The author points at the significance of developing special social programs aimed at the optimization of the reproduction of population and the regulation of marital relations at the level of the town, the improvement of the living standards and social health of families.
