SOCIAL POTENTIAL OF PHYSICAL CULTURE AND SPORT IN REPRODUCTION OF POPULATION’S HEALTH: SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS

Abstract.
The article sets a task to identify and substantiate, resting on the materials of a sociological research, the basic parameters of the impact of physical culture and sport as a social potential influencing directly the formation of citizens’ health considered by the author under the conditions of the transformation of the Russian society. The results of the research testify to the low level of knowledge and skills of the population in the aspect of organism regulation and the implementation of various forms of physical activity. The paper concludes with the recommendations securing the way out of the existing situation.
