Abstract.
The article on the basis of field studies analyzes the problem of the religious identity and religious practices of the modern Russian population of the Republic of Tatarstan. With a view of solving the formulated research tasks the author investigated the religious needs of the representatives of different socio-demographic and territorial groups of the Russians, and also the extent, to which they are satisfied. The findings allow making a conclusion about the degree and specifics of the actualization of religiousness at the level of the whole ethno-territorial group of the Russians of Tatarstan.
