Abstract. In the article the specificity of the environment of the coastal territories of the European North of Russia by the example of Murmansk region and neighbouring regions is considered. The author supposes that the coastal territories of the European North of Russia are located in the periphery of sociocultural space and embody open artificial environment with the heightened concentration of meanings and senses, which vector human life.
