PROCESS OF FORMATION OF YOUTH MUSICAL SUBCULTURES IN RUSSIA

Abstract.
The article reveals the specifics of the process of forming the modern youth subcultures of Russia in the aspect of mass musical culture. The process of the consolidation of youth musical subcultures resulted in the formation of commercial institutions, which conditioned the processes of the commercialization of sub-cultural associations. The author shows that club culture (rock and hip-hop cultures) conditioned the changing of the forms of the modern youth subcultures of Russia. The paper concludes that music is one of the important factors for the formation and development of modern youth subcultures in Russia.
