Abstract.
The author analyzes the activity of the Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Kazan in the post-war - reconstruction - period, when the concentration of scientists’ efforts was needed for the crisis elimination and catching up the large lag in the development of production, techniques and technology in comparison with the developed countries of the world. The article is based on historical-archival analysis; data from the archives of the Republic of Tatarstan are the materials for the research.
