Abstract.
The article is devoted to the public health of Dagestan at the beginning of the XX century, struggle with malaria and the development of medical infrastructure in the Republic. On the basis of extensive factual material with archival sources involvement medicine condition in different districts of the Republic, sanitary situation in the towns are analyzed. The ways and methods of struggle with malaria are described, statistic data on the quantity of people, who came down with malaria, are given. The main drawbacks and problems in the health service of the region during the mentioned period are noted.
