Abstract.
The article reveals the process of reorganizing the system of the military training of young people in the educational institutions of Siberia shortly before the Great Patriotic War. The author analyzes a range of problems that exerted negative influence on the military training of the students of general education institutions. The researcher emphasizes that students’ military training has to have single authority to administer and develop curriculums, and the instructors of military disciplines must have professional competences, pedagogical and methodical knowledge and skills for working with young people.
