Abstract. The article reveals art in its relation to the ideas of humanism. Following the Aristotelian line of art understanding as the imitation of being the authors oppose the passive imitation of the ancient artist and the creative activity of the artist of the Renaissance thus showing the humanism of the Renaissance art. The opposite of the Renaissance art humanism is Heidegger’s conception of art as the depersonalization of the artist and the sound of being.
