Abstract.
The article is devoted to new aspects in studying the history of post-war Germany illustrated by the example of Professor Sibyl Steinbacher’s monograph “How Sex Came to Germany: the Fight for Morality and Decency Norms in the Early Federal Republic of Germany”. The author reveals the methodology and structure of the study, and gives positive estimation of the contribution made by Steinbacher to the revision of the traditional image of that era as the time of universal moral conservatism and the domination of old norms. Insufficient attention paid by her to younger generation is subjected to criticism.
