Abstract.
The article provides an analysis of the basic problems of the adaptation of cultural identity under the conditions of modern society. The authors present a general conception of the internal mechanisms of personal self-identification, the lacunarity of cross-cultural communication as a factor for the formation of flexible or hybrid identity. The paper introduces and analyzes the multimodal structure of the adaptation of cultural identity, argues for the communicative memory of identity as an adaptation mechanism and basis for overcoming lacunas. This thesis is exemplified by the materials of the All-Buryat Congress on Consolidation and Spiritual Revival of the Nation and the programme “Psychological and Pedagogical Maintenance of the Adaptation of the Children of Migrants”.
