“SIX SONATAS FOR VIOLIN AND HARPSICHORD” BY J. S. BACH AS EXAMPLE OF REPRESENTING NUMERICAL SYMBOLISM OF SECRET SOCIETIES

Abstract.
The article tries to investigate the specifics of the cycle “Six Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord” by J. S. Bach within the framework of cultural traditions. Relying on the analysis the author for the first time proves that the compositional structure, tonal plane represent the principles of the numerical symbolism of freemasonry, Rosicrucianism, Pythagoreanism and cabala. The proportion of the bars of elements is determined by occult traditions, the cyclicity of the manifestation of Rosicrucianism in the world and the mathematical calculations of the composer himself.
