Abstract.
The article is devoted to the problem of the forced involvement of the French citizens in the work in Nazi Germany in the years of the Second World War. The paper shows the influence of political relations on this process, as well as the role of Vichy government in the issues of involving the French labour force in the German industry. The author concludes that the politics and economic lag of France in many ways made the use of the French labour force in the German industry less large-scale than it might be in other circumstances.
