MIGRATION POLICY OF SPAIN IN THE CONTEXT OF CEUTA AND MELILLA IN THE 90S OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the analysis of the migration policy of Spain in the context of immigration processes from Morocco through the territory of autonomous towns Ceuta and Melilla being the territory of the European Union. The problem of illegal immigration to the towns is one of the most serious in relationship between the two countries. This issue is largely triggered by the very policy of Spain: de jure migration legislation is aimed at the integration of immigrants from North Africa into the Spanish society; de facto inflated criteria leave visitors no other choice but to stay in the country illegally.
