SYMBOLIC PRINCIPLES OF ROSICRUCIANS AND THEIR MANIFESTATION IN THE CYCLE “THE ART OF FUGUE” BY J. S. BACH

Abstract.
The article examines a hieroglyphic monad by John Dee as a sign representing the essence of the symbolic conceptions of the Order of Rosicrucians. Analyzing the cycle “The Art of Fugue” by J. S. Bach the author concludes that the composer uses the symbolic representation of the monad in the form of the intonation of the Protestant choral „Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern”, a drawing at the end of the fugue № 8, a monogram associated with the Second and Third Manifestos for transferring sacral knowledge revealing the philosophy of the Order.
