ELECTRONIC HYPERTEXT AND “DIALOGISM” OF M. BAKHTIN: COMMON GROUND

Abstract. The article tells about transition from the traditional textual organization of information to hypertext, and analyzes the notion “hypertext”. The aim is to find the common ground of electronic hypertext and the conception of M. Bakhtin’s “dialogism”. To achieve this aim, the characteristic features of “dialogue” in the philosopher’s understanding are considered, and the analysis of the characteristics similar to electronic hypertext is conducted. It is concluded that there are a lot of parallels between Bakhtin’s “dialogism” and electronic hypertext.
