“GREAT META-NARRATIVES” OF ART NOUVEAU ERA IN POSTMODERNIST DISCOURSE

Abstract.
The aim of the article is identifying the reasons of the drastic revaluation of the leading ideas during art nouveau era, which theorists announced the end of educational logocentrism, and proclaimed the equivalence of all the forms of rationality, different creative paradigms. The convergence of high and consumer culture occurred under the conditions of the transformation of the educational values of art nouveau era. The author emphasizes the fact that postmodernism is not a desired type of consciousness for humanity, but its importance is in the recognition of cultural polyphony opening space for a genuine dialogue, in liberation from dogma in the cognition and perception of the world.
