Abstract. In the article the role of the traditional culture of the Mordvins in the process of the ethnic consciousness formation of young people is considered. The authors emphasize that family and ritual culture played a significant role in the individual’s socialization, the upbringing of moral and ethical standards and spiritual values. The peculiarities of the development of the socio-educational process of young generation are revealed through the lenses of the works of verbal poetic creativity.
