Abstract. The author considers the socio-psychological aspect of the interpretation of the history of Russia of the XIII-XVII centuries in the works of the representative of the Russian historical science abroad G. P. Fedotov (1886-1951). The article has a historiographical character and it is devoted to the perception analysis of the concept “spirituality” in the context of the study of the Russian national self-consciousness as a historical and psychological problem.
