Abstract.
The article considers opinions on the epoch of Great Reforms expressed in the pages of the editions “Citizen” and “New Time” in the first years of the reign of Nicholas II. The author compares the positions of these organs of the press on the issues of the reforms implementation, their significance and results for the country. Special attention is focused on the articles connected with the remembrance of emperor Alexander II and his time. As a result of the research the author comes to the conclusion that in the studied opinions socio-political ideas in whole were clearly shown.
