NIKOLAI STAKHEEV: HISTORIC PERSONALITY IN THE LITERARY IMAGE OF KISA VOROB'YANINOV

Abstract. The article deals with the life history of the merchant of the first guild N. D. Stakheev. Nicolai Stakheev was born in a wealthy merchant family in Elabuga of Vyatka province. Having inherited from his father considerable fortune and commercial enterprises, N. Stakheev moved from Elabuga to Moscow, where he engaged in business successfully. Being a major businessman, generous benefactor of the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century Nikolai Dmitrievich in the years of the revolutionary events had to give all his money in favor of the Soviet government. It was him, who became a prototype of Kisa Vorob’yaninov in I. Ilf and E. Petrov’s novel “The Twelve Chairs”.
