Abstract.
The article shows the peculiarities of the process of the formation of the social security of the person in the context of the separate stages of the development of the Russian state and society. The idea about the multidimensional entity of the phenomenon of the social security of the person and its historical modalities is substantiated. The genesis of social security at the transformation of political institutions is revealed, starting from its identification with state security to the recognition of the legal rights of the person under the conditions of the social state.
