MNEMONIC SCORE AS AN INSTRUMENT FOR THE ANALYSIS OF THE GREGORIAN CHANT

Abstract.
The article examines problems associated with the mnemonic aspect of the prosodic formation of the chant. To analyze this process in the Gregorian chant the author applies to mnemonic score as an instrument, which allows identifying latent internal phenomena conditioned by the temporal development of the shortest prosodic formations (constructive units). The analysis is conducted by the example of the chant “ Agnus Dei” from the II mass Kyriale. The author ascertains the formation of the corresponding pitch lines of the elements of the constructive units, the accumulation of reference and non-reference tones formed in the process from mnemonic latent and really sounding tones.
