Abstract.
The article analyses the political sentiments of the Far Easterners in the pre-war period. Sentiments are the most flexible element of mass consciousness, which is influenced by all the changes in the political system. In the period under study sudden political turns took place. This caused ambiguous reaction from various groups of the society and attempts to adapt to the reality. By the example of former Red Army partisans and their attitude to Soviet power and its policy the author examines changes in the social sentiments of the population of the region.
