PROBLEM OF “EXPERIENCE” IN THEORY OF HISTORY BY F. R. ANKERSMIT

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the problematic field of artistic and historical experience - the cornerstone notion in the conception of intellectual empiricism by the Dutch historian and theorist of humanitarian thinking F. R. Ankersmit. The topicality of this theme is conditioned by the fact that currently there is increased interest in the study of the problems of empirical cognition in the humanities. The article formulates reasons for address to “intellectual empiricism”, considers the forms of historical experience and their cognitive potential, and conducts the comparative analysis of narrative and historical experience as “conductors” in the bygone reality of the past.
