PECULIARITIES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION’S APPROACH TO SUPPORT OF INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS IN THE BALTIC SEA REGION

Abstract.
The article presents a brief analysis of the major peculiarities of the forms of international cooperation proposed by the European Union for the Baltic Sea region from the standpoint of their approach to the implementation of project activity. The EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and The Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013 are analyzed according to such parameters as approach to the selection of projects for support, the forms of the support of project activity, the volume of financing so that to answer the question how they use international project activity as an instrument of cooperation. The conclusion is drawn about the subject potential of the above mentioned forms and the results of supported project activity preferable for them.
