Abstract.
The article considers some approaches to the study of political leadership. Taking the conclusions of empirical researches as a trend, the author does not exclude the use of psychological methods in the political analysis of leadership. Characterizing psychological and social-cultural approaches, the author emphasizes that not all theses in presented theories are acceptable, and it creates a certain kind of difficulties in the correct interpretation of political leadership. The author proves the need for using social-cultural approach as the most promising in political science.
