SIGN-SYMBOLIC IMPLEMENTATION OF PHENOMENON OF SUFFERING IN HISTORY OF CULTURE

Abstract.
The article undertakes an attempt of the atomistic study of the phenomenon of suffering as a cultural phenomenon in the form of its sign-symbolic implementation (colours and rituals of mourning, gravestones, epitaphs and so on). The examination of this problem contributes to the complete understanding of the national peculiarities of the traditional culture, and it also shows that signs, symbols and rituals are a continuous live feeling of suffering, but not a lifeless fixation of events.
