ETHNO-FUTURISM IN MODERN MASS CULTURE (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE VOLGA-URAL REGION)

Abstract.
In the article an attempt to consider ethno-futurism as a phenomenon in the modern mass culture of the peoples of the Volga-Ural region is made. The Udmurt indie-rock band “Silent Woo Goore” and the film by A. Fedorchenko “Celestial Wives of the Meadow Mari” are given as the examples. The author, on the basis of the works of well-known researchers, is among the first to consider ethno-futurism not only as a narrow movement in the literature and art of the Finno-Ugric peoples, but as a broader ideological conception represented in different genres of modern culture.
