TRANSFORMATION OF MASSES NOTION: FROM MODERNITY TO POSTMODERNITY

Abstract.
In the article the principle of forming the notion of masses in the social-philosophical theory of the XX century and its transformation in the conditions of postindustrial society is analyzed. The generality of the methodological purpose of the theories of modernity owing to its realization in the logic of natural sciences prevents the adequate expression of the studied object essence. The author suggests the infinition of masses, which, in contrast to modernistic definition, promotes the design of the notion scope having regard to current social and cultural realia.
