Abstract. The article is devoted to the tympana reliefs of Romanesque “Hirschau school” temples, which were a part of the congregation of Cluny. The paper aims to systematize the monuments on the basis of the analysis of the iconography and the compositional structure of the reliefs. The author disproves the opinion on the influence of the French artistic tradition on the German one: if in the architecture the influence of Cluny II layout decisions is noticeable, then in the plastic art there is no such continuity. Suggested tympana typologies are associated with different regional schools, the author also focuses on the three-part composition with the semi-figures of the saints and ornamental decorative tympanum.
