Abstract.
The article provides a review of the papers touching on the problem of the classification and typology of the monuments of the so called Danubian Horseman - the reliefs of the II-IV centuries, carved or engraved, cultic by nature. The author examines and analyzes the works of the researchers introducing the principles for classifying this type of sources and different approaches to their study.
