RUSSIAN VERSION OF CONTINENTAL ALLIANCE IN GEOPOLITICAL THOUGHT OF THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract.
The article discusses domestic view on the “continental alliance” conception at the beginning of the XX century in the works by M. F. von Taube and Yu. S. Kartsov. According to the author, studying the papers of these researchers allows doubting the adopted in science viewpoint, according to which the German scientist K. Haushofer is the first author of the XX century, who formulated the mentioned conception. The paper provides the comparative analysis of the works of the mentioned scientists, identifies similarities and differences in approaches to the formation and goals of the continental confederation of Eurasian states. The author concludes on the necessity for a deeper and detailed study of the heritage of domestic scientists under the current complicated international situation.
