MAX SCHELER’S CRITICISM OF KANTIAN FORMALISM IN ETHICS

Abstract.
The article discusses M. Scheler’s criticism of formalism in I. Kant’s ethics. The development of a new theory of values on phenomenological basis unfolds against the background of the critical analysis of the premises, or, how Scheler himself calls them, myths or errors of I. Kant’s theoretical philosophy and formal ethics, which close the door to the doctrine of pure axiology. The criticism of formalism in ethics is a basis for developing axiological doctrine proper that discovers new understanding of the value and emotional world of a human being.
