MASK AS CONCEALMENT: DECEPTION AND SELF-DECEPTION

Abstract.
The presented article is devoted to the philosophical comprehension of the theme of mask. Mask is considered by the author in the context of the theme of face concealment, the subject’s “I”, the human’s authentic and unauthentic existence. The phenomenon of concealment taking various forms in the human’s social and personal existence, in particular such as deception and self-deception, is essential for mask existence in the suggested interpretation. The topicality and scientific novelty of the paper content consist in the examination of mask not only as a means of socialization but also as a special form of the existence of the human being’s individual, inner “I”.
