Abstract. The article deals with the issue of the transformation of the festival “Solstice”, which is held annually within the territory of Omsk region. The basis for this holiday is as follows: Slavic customs, traditions, beliefs that provide an opportunity for the participants to get in touch with their history. The official structures consider this festival as a threat, so the attempts to stop pagan celebrations within the territory of Muromtsevo district were made. This research is based on expedition data collected between 2012 and 2015.
